Make great memories with your children;
take time to cook with them.
There are so many fun lessons that can take place
while you are preparing these recipes together; counting, measuring.
And don’t forget to laugh when the occasional egg hits the
floor or you end up with a flour cloud
looming over the kitchen.

English Muffin Pizza

Ingredients:

English Muffins
Pizza sauce
Shredded cheese
Other toppings of choice: pepperoni, sausage (all ready cooked), peppers, mushrooms, onions, etc

1) Preheat oven to 350°.
2) Separate the English muffins into two halves and place on cookie sheet.
3) Spoon desired amount of pizza sauce onto each half.
4) Sprinkle on some shredded cheese.
5) Add the toppings you want.
6) Cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Keep a close eye on them so that the cheese doesn’t burn.
7) Enjoy!

Play Dough (cooked method)
This is my favorite play dough recipe. The consistency is very
much like the store bought play dough.

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
1 tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
food coloring or *koolaid

Instructions:
Stir and cook for approximately 3 minutes; until it pulls away from the sides of the pan. Take off the heat and knead by hand until it looks like playdough. Keeps for approximately 2 months (with home use). Store in refrigerator.

*I wouldn’t use koolaid to color the play dough unless the children are a little older because the wonderful smell is going to make them want to eat it.

Play Dough (un-cooked method)

Ingredients:
1 ¼ cups flour
¼ cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup boiling water
1 ½ tablespoon oil
food coloring or *koolaid

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together and knead until smooth.

*I wouldn’t use koolaid to color the play dough unless the children are a little older because the wonderful smell is going to make them want to eat it.

3. Sift in the flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

5. Grease two loaf pans. Pour the batter into the pans. Be careful not to fill them more than 2/3’s full
6. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour at 350°.
7. Let the bread cool in the pans for at least 15 minutes before removing.
